The Samuel Oscar Company Limited
Privacy Policy
The Samuel Oscar Company Limited (also trading as Houxou and Visicom Hosting) must retain some data that you, our customer, have provided. We do not sell that data but we may have to share some of the data with appropriate authorities in order to provide you with the services that you want to receive or in response to a lawful instruction that we are obliged to obey.
The Data We Collect
We collect only the data that is necessary to provide you with the services that you receive. This data includes your name, address, telephone contact number and email address.
Some of you will choose to pay us with a Credit or Debit Card. We do not collect or retain any Credit Card or Debit Card data. We enter such data into our Credit Card Service Provider’s online portal at the time of your giving it to us and we do not record it. The Service Provider manages the payment and its authorisation. We will provide you with the details of that Service Provider upon demand.
Why We Collect Your Data
We are obliged by our agreements with the Domain Registration Authorities and as a matter of obligation to the Internet Community, to validate your identity. We may also need to contact you from time to time about your services. For these reasons, we retain the minimum data needed for those purposes and check that it is correct.
We may use your data to offer you improvements to your services or additional services that we think may be of interest to you but we do not allow anyone else to access your data without cause (see below). If you do not want us to tell you about such offers, please let us know.
How We Store Your Data
Your data is stored online within our server configuration in a very secure data centre. It is password protected and can only be accessed by Samuel Oscar’s trusted staff and, in most cases, by you via your password protected access to your Control Panel.
We use multi-layered software protection to protect our servers and that also protects your data.
Sharing Your Data
We have to share your contact data with certain other organisations, such as Domain Registration Authorities, in order to provide you with services. Other than that, we will only share your data when legally obliged to do so.
Maintaining Your Data
It is essential that your data is kept up-to-date. We will tell you what data we hold about you if you ask us. You may also be able to see your data in your Control Panel. We rely on you to tell us to correct it or correct it yourself as necessary.
